A "perfect" library

Wow! I just got permission to re-work some aspects of the library's layout that aren't working for us. How exciting! I have to admit it's a little stressful, as I feel like I've got a HUGE responsibility to try and get things "perfect." It's going to take a team to get the project accomplished, and I don't want to inconvenience anyone in changing my mind or making poor decisions early in the game. I'll just cross my fingers and triple-check everything! The new layout will be amazing, as it allows us to see the ENTIRE library from the circulation desk and watch computer monitors. Supervision is always a plus. What would you change in your library if you could make some simple renovations?

  1. My library was just renovated over the summer. We doubled the size, added a computer cluster, smartboard, listening center, playaways, comfy seating, and carpet! The students LOVE the new look. I have found that more students are not just coming into the library but staying to read/work once here!!!
